The CHCAA was pleased to present the 2007 Dr. Edward Mazak Advancement in Public Awareness Award to the Competition Bureau. This award is given annually for outstanding achievements in raising public awareness of health care fraud such as the development and implementation of a fraud awareness program or distributing anti-fraud information through a public medium.
The Competition Bureau was recognized for its contribution to Canadian awareness of health care fraud through the Fraud Prevention Forum’s annual Fraud Prevention Month campaign. The Fraud Prevention Forum is “a concerned group of private sector firms, consumer and volunteer groups, and government and law enforcement agencies committed to fighting fraud aimed at consumers and businesses.”
